What you will see in the NYC Natural History Museum
What you will see in the NYC Natural History Museum will amaze you! Regardless if you have seen the movie, “Night at the Museum.” How the writers of the movie were inspired by walking through this museum is no surprise to me. I also felt the exhibits could come alive!
The pictures don’t do it justice. You have to see it with your own eyes!

Entering the Museum
You will need a ticket to get in. The prices for non-New Yorkers are $30 for adults, $18 for ages 3-12, $24 for students with valid ID, and $24 for ages 60 and up. They open at 10:00 am and close at 5:30 pm.
The museum encourages buying your tickets in advance for a “faster entrance.”
Pick up a map
You will want to pick up a map. The museum offers an interactive downloadable version. Below are pictures of each floor. this will help you map out what you want to see before you go.

The Exhibits
Plan on spending a full morning or afternoon in the museum. The attention to detail is worth taking your time.

Our first room was the African Mammals exhibits on the 2nd floor.

birds of the world: 2nd floor

the planets and the big bang theory movie: 2nd floor
All of the planets are arranged hanging in a tall room surrounded by windows. As you walk down the ramp, take notice of everything in the wall. You will see many space related items.

The Big Bang Movie is about 5 minutes. When you watch the movie, you will stand facing the center of the room in a circle. Definitely see it!

You will find this scale after you pass the all of the planets and are heading to the elevators.
